An 'iconic recording' with 'pretty good sounding' quality. Vishnevskaya 'sounds gorgeous in those ethereal moments,' and Reshetin 'has this real strong presence.' Very dramatic.

An earlier live recording from the same soloists. A worthy complement to the Rostropovich, it has 'a little bit more intensity and assertiveness'.
