Premier Choix

Gilbert Kalish

1976

Gil's top choice for this 'fascinating' and 'unique' work. The recording is 'sumptuously recorded, very clear,' and Kalish 'really nails it with the different moods,' from the 'tranquility... in that Thoreau movement' to the 'stormy, kind of jarring chords' in the earlier ones. Includes the optional viola and flute solos.
