Romeo and Juliet (Fantasy Overture)

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

Enregistrements

Premier Choix

Claudio Abbado / Boston Symphony Orchestra

1971 Excellent recording quality.

Top choice. The love theme is played beautifully; Abbado was great at drawing out melodies. Virtuosity is fantastic. Dramatic, exciting, and an excellent version.

Également Recommandés

Igor Markevitch / Philharmonia Orchestra

1959 Not as well recorded as Abbado.

A little rougher in sound. Not as sweeping and romantic in the love theme, but it brings out more of the tragic, dark quality and drama. Gives you another side of the piece.
