Walter Gieseking

1956

A good complement to the Gilels set, with some overlap and some different pieces ('March of the Dwarves'). Gieseking had a 'wonderful tone, wonderful color, wonderful imagination' and a 'wonderful lyrical quality.' One of his better recordings.
